Partiendo de laidea de sensor y sus diferentes tipos (sensores ópticos, eléctricos,mecánicos y biosensores), el texto repasa las maneras en que podemosobservar el mundo nanométrico e interactuar con él a través deejemplos y experimentos, y de la revisión de conceptos esenciales dela física como la resonancia, el oscilador armónico o la precisión,entre otros. Desde los fotodetectores que regulan el brillo de laspantallas de nuestros móviles a los interferómetros para la detecciónde ondas gravitacionales, la nanomecánica, pese a lo que su nombreindica, no se queda solo en las pequeñas cosas.
