Il Manuale nasce dalla diffusa esigenza di un testo scientifico in lingua italiana che illustri i fondamenti teorici e, congiuntamente, i vantaggi e risvolti pratici dell’arbitrato commerciale internazionale. Partendo dall’analisi delle fonti dell’arbitrato, il Manuale prende in considerazione – in ottica comparata e senza trascurare l’imprescindibile dimensione dei conflitti di leggi che caratterizzano l’intera disciplina dell’arbitrato internazionale – questioni relative alla validità ed efficacia della clausola arbitrale, all’arbitrabilità, alla legge applicabile alla sostanza delle controversie e alla procedura dinnanzi agli arbitri, per poi arrivare all’analisi dei motivi di annullamento del lodo e del diniego del suo riconoscimento. Non è, infine, tralasciata la questione dell’interazione tra l’arbitrato commerciale internazionale e le fonti di diritto internazionale privato dell’Unione europea.
