"Este libro se dedica a la dinámica de sistemas y componentes mecánicos. La primera parte, bajo la hipótesis de sólido rígido, plantea y resuelve los problemas directo e inverso, el cálculo y dimensionamiento del volante de inercia, y equilibrado en máquinas. En la segunda parte se aborda de nuevo la dinámica, pero bajo la hipótesis más realista de sólido deformable, con contenidos que habitualmente se incluyen en la teoría de vibraciones. Incluir la dinámica del sólido rígido y la teoría de vibraciones en un solo volumen es un planteamiento muy útil para que el lector aprecie en su conjunto la estrecha relación entre ambas partes.
Los desarrollos teóricos se combinan con ejemplos resueltos para su mejor comprensión. Se plantean modelos matemáticos que realizan predicciones del comportamiento dinámico de un sistema con una precisión razonable.
Este libro está dirigido fundamentalmente a estudiantes de ingeniería del ámbito de las tecnologías industriales y para dar soporte a la docencia de asignaturas como Teoría de Máquinas o Cinemática y Dinámica de Máquinas.
