La publicación trata los fundamentos teóricos de los sistemas de representación axonométricos. Aunque el valor descriptivo de los sistemas axonométricos es limitado, al resultar complejas las operaciones con los mismos, estos resultan muy útiles para representar con rigor cualquier cuerpo a través de una única imagen En su desarrollo se constata que no se trata de sistemas que nos aporten una visión "perceptiva" del espacio, sino de sistemas cognoscitivos que nos ayudan a conocer los objetos en su globalidad y nos aportan una visión intelectual. Ofrecen posibilidades de dibujos rápidos, a modo de bocetos, que pueden ayudarnos para la resolución de problemas geométricos en otros sistemas de representación gráfica.
